The way people enter recurring events now is to enter long lengths of time. E.g., for http://my.dsu.ca/events/show/521:
Commerce Night at the Pogue Fado
Thu Mar 23 10:00 PM - Thu Mar 22 02:00 AM
Come out to the Pogue Fado for live music, great times and great prices. EVERY THURSDAY is Student ...more
The thing is, it is not happening every day, it is happening every thursday. The current format is lacking in information. When I go to my.dsu.ca, I want to see what events are happening tonight or tomorrow night. In August, I am going to look at that event and wonder when the next one is. This also makes it impossibled
Recurring events should be input by picking the day(s) of the week, how frequently it occurs (weekly, bi-weekly), for how long it recurs, and at what time it occurs. Then the display can just be:
Commerce Night at the Pogue Fado
Thu Apr 20, 10:00 PM - 2:00 AM (and every Thursday until x/x/xx)
Come out to the Pogue Fado for live music, great times and great prices. EVERY THURSDAY is Student ...more
Next week, the "Thu Apr 20" would update to "Thu Apr 27", always showing the next date.
Take iCal or Outlook as an example of how to do a recurring appointment.
